The Eclipse Pack Down Jacket by Helinox Wear, operated by the KOLON Industries FnC Organization (KOLON FnC), has won Best of the Best (BOB) in the Product Design category at the internationally renowned Red Dot Design Award 2026, demonstrating the brand’s global design competitiveness.

Organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, the Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the world’s three major design awards, alongside iF and IDEA. The Best of the Best distinction, awarded to Helinox Wear, is the highest honor given only to a very small number of products among all entries. This marks the first time a Korean outdoor apparel brand has won Best of the Best, the top honor in the Product Design category of the Red Dot Design Award. The achievement is especially meaningful as it demonstrates that the design competitiveness of Korean outdoor apparel has reached the highest global level. The winning product also received an exceptional 98 out of 100 Red Dot Winner Points from the international jury, underscoring its design innovation and level of refinement.

The award-winning Eclipse Pack Down Jacket is the first model in Helinox Wear’s seasonless Edition series, which distills the brand’s philosophy into a continuous product line. It was designed around the concept of duality, embracing the coexistence of opposing values that define Helinox Wear. The jacket proposes a new lifestyle that moves between gear and wear, and between outdoor and everyday life. It has also proven its market appeal, selling out within a month of release.

The Eclipse Pack Down Jacket was recognized for two key strengths: its three-dimensional design, which responds to the curves and movement of the body to expand the range of motion, and its engineering approach, which overcomes the inherent limitations of down by minimizing down leakage through ultra-lightweight construction.

The first key factor behind the award is its proprietary panel system, inspired by the curvature of Eclipse, a defining symbol of Helinox. Designed to closely respond to the curves and movement of the human body, the system provides greater freedom of movement and expands the range of motion compared with conventional straight-panel construction. The result is a single piece of wearable gear composed of 30 panels, reflecting Helinox Wear’s design approach in which function and form are not separated, but instead find an essential balance. The curved Eclipse structure also creates an ergonomic silhouette that moves naturally with the wearer’s body shape.

The second contributing factor is the refined integration of ultra-lightweight materials, optimized thermal efficiency, and a systemized approach to portability. Made with 7-denier nylon and 800-fill-power goose down, the jacket achieves an ultra-lightweight construction of 320 grams. It also overcomes the typical limitation of down leakage at stitch points through a panel-divided modular structure. In addition, its Packable Link System, which connects the process from compression to attachment, creates an optimal form of wearable gear that can be used immediately in outdoor environments.
