The KOLON Industries FnC Organization (KOLON FnC) announced that its outdoor brand KOLON SPORT will host KOLON TRAIL RUN 2026 in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, from April 18 to 19. As the first trail running race organized by KOLON SPORT, the event will run as a two-day, one-night program designed to extend the experience beyond the race itself.

KOLON SPORT has steadily strengthened its identity as an outdoor brand through the launch of trail running–specific products and official sponsorship of races. Trail running is a discipline that demands the ability to respond to natural terrain, climate, and changing ground conditions all at once, making it one of the clearest expressions of the technical expertise and know-how built by outdoor brands. Hoengseong was selected as the ideal setting to bring these qualities to life. Located in the mountainous central region of Gangwon Province, Hoengseong offers an environment well suited to trail running, with gentle ridgelines and well-developed forest roads.

Unlike most trail running races, where participants disperse as soon as they finish, KOLON TRAIL RUN 2026 is differentiated by the way it is designed as a complete experience that continues after the race. Rather than leaving the venue immediately after finishing, participants will remain in the same setting to rest, connect, and share time together. Post-race meals, music, and recovery programs extend running beyond the result itself and into a broader experience, through which KOLON SPORT aims to propose a new trail running culture.

The event will feature three main race categories: 35K Single, 35K Duo, and 15K. The 35K Single category is an individual race covering approximately 35 kilometers, starting at Welli Hilli Park and passing through Cheongtaesan and Daemisan before finishing in Gyechon-ri, with a time limit of 8 hours. The 35K Duo category follows the same course, completed by teams of two. The 15K category covers approximately 15 kilometers, starting at Welli Hilli Park and passing through Cheongtaesan and Daemisan, with a time limit of 4 hours. A Vertical event will also be held as a special category, run as an individual race over an approximately 1.5-kilometer course to be completed within 1 hour.

The event will welcome approximately 1,500 participants, including 400 runners in the 35K Single, 400 runners in the 35K Duo (200 teams), and 700 runners in the 15K. Registration will open on Friday, February 6, at 2 p.m. through the official KOLON SPORT website on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are KRW 150,000 for the 35K Single, KRW 280,000 for the 35K Duo, and KRW 80,000 for the 15K. All participants will receive a race bib, T-shirt, and commemorative gift. Finishers will also receive category-specific completion gifts and medals, with 35K finishers receiving a jacket and 15K finishers receiving a cap.

A KOLON SPORT representative said, “Rather than focusing only on race records, this event was designed around how trail runners spend the time before and after the race, so that an entire day in the mountains becomes a rich, immersive experience. We will continue exploring ways to connect outdoor experience, products, and culture through trail running.”
