- Launches 13 lightweight apparel items for backpacking, featuring water-repellent Alpha Down jackets

- Experience zone includes camping gear, Aerolite tents, and titanium cookware for backpackers

The KOLON Industries FnC Organization (KOLON FnC) announced that its outdoor brand KOLON SPORT has opened a pop-up store introducing new products from its backpacking-specific line, the BPL (Backpacking Light) Series.

Under the concept “Pack Light, Sense More,” the pop-up is taking place at Captured Seoul in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Captured Seoul is a hybrid space combining a café and select shop for backpacking gear, popular among backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts. The venue has been transformed into an immersive experience zone where visitors can explore lightweight apparel and gear designed specifically for backpacking.

The pop-up features 13 newly launched BPL apparel items alongside a range of backpacking gear.

Centered on the core idea of “lightness,” the BPL Series minimizes pack weight while delivering high-performance protection against changing weather conditions. Down products feature Pertex® Quantum fabric for enhanced wind resistance, water repellency, and durability, while the brand’s proprietary Alpha Down, a hydrophobic water-repellent down, provides lasting warmth even in rain or snow. The collection’s highlight, the BPL Egglite Down Jacket, offers exceptional warmth at just over 200 grams, and the lineup also includes mid- and heavy-weight downs, down vests, and pieces made with Polartec® Alpha Direct insulation for advanced thermal performance.

In addition, the pop-up showcases this year’s newly launched backpacking gear, including self-inflating mats, sleeping bags, and trekking poles, along with KOLON SPORT’s signature Aerolite tent series. Visitors can also explore the titanium cookware line, a lightweight camping essentials set featuring spoons, cups, and tableware.

A variety of hands-on programs are available on-site. In the Tent Zone, guests can try out BPL tents, mats, and sleeping bags, while the MYOG (Make Your Own Gear) program invites participants to craft their own lantern shade. The “Question Pack” activity guides visitors through a reflective backpacking journey—from preparation to experience and recollection. Guests who visit wearing KOLON SPORT products can also participate in a special event offering a one-night Captured Seoul Backpacking Stay voucher.

The pop-up will run from October 18 to November 9, operating on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for a total of eight days, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A KOLON SPORT representative said, “This pop-up store is designed to engage directly with our backpacking community, allowing customers to experience KOLON SPORT’s lightweight and functional gear firsthand. We will continue to develop lightweight, practical outdoor collections that meet the diverse environments and needs of backpackers.”
