Expanding the workwear category…7 items featuring core functions for mechanics

Boldest, a workwear brand of the KOLON Industries FnC Organization (KOLON FnC), is expanding its workwear category with the launch of the Mechanic line for this fall/winter season.

Mechanics refer to people who repair vehicles, bicycles, or motorcycles. Boldest has so far offered workwear for carpenters, wood craftsmen, and construction workers, but this season, it is extending its domain to mechanics. This means that Boldest will create practical work clothes with field-specific functionality, rather than typical workwear.

The Mechanic line features stain-resistant and anti-scratch properties as well as a function to withstand outdoor weather.

Mechanics are easily exposed to oil substances. This is because they not only handle lubricants for metal parts but also oil-powered machines. The Mechanic line minimizes stains by adding Teflon, a stain-resistant material, to the areas that are easy to be contaminated with oil during work. In addition, a cover design is applied to prevent scratches on the exterior of machines caused by zippers or metal subsidiary materials. Although some repair work is done indoors, 3-layer (3L) softshell material that is windproof, waterproof, and cold-proof was used for workers who work outdoors in an open site. This material is highly functional yet lightweight, helping to increase work efficiency.

The Mechanic line consists of seven items including jackets, vests, T-shirts, coveralls, pants, and belts. Not only does it contain all the three functions mentioned above, but it has also increased storage capacity with the E.D.C (Every Day Carry) pocket system, one of the most outstanding features of Boldest that is essential for field workers.

Boldest also chooses real workers as visual models. For the new Mechanic line, Boldest worked with Jeon Hyung-jun, CEO of JUN GARAGE, an auto repair shop in Gwangju.
